Gmail is a popular mail service by Google. Many of us have used this mail. Now you can set Gmail as the default client without any extra software. If
you use Gmail as your primary email client, Opera 10 makes it easy to associate any mailto links that you might encounter to use Gmail as the default email client. Make one small modification to one of the .ini files. You would like to use Gmail as your default email client
- Open Windows Explorer and go to C drive then Program Files then Opera and defaults
- Then search the webmailproviders.ini file and open it with Notepad
- Next go to the bottom of the notepad list and add the below details
[Gmail]
ID=8
URL= https://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s
ICON= http://mail.google.com/mail/images/favicon.ico - Then Save the file you edit.
- Next open your Opera browser and go to Preferences.
- Then choose Advanced and then Programs.
- Choose mailto from the Protocol list and click on the Edit button.
- Next choose the Use a Web mail service radio button and choose Gmail from the dropdown.
- Finally click on the OK button and restart the Opera web browser
