Facebook is one of the great social networking website. It periodically upgrades his security settings. Now a days its very easy to be hacked by ill-
intentioned people. Now Facebook has added secure browsing through HTTPS connection. HTTPS provides a combination of the HTTP and SSL protocols, enabling encrypted communication between your computer and a web server. One more option is Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect Facebook users from being hijacked. SSL encryption prevents hackers and sniffers from intercepting your data when Facebook website is used in such encrypted mode. The HTTPS option is not enabled by default. For increasing your facebook security you would like to enable the HTTPS feature
- Go to Facebook and login into your account
- On the upper right side of your profile, click the Account link
- From the drop down menu, choose Account Settings
- Under Account Security, click the Change link
- Check the Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible checkbox
- Then click Save button to activate default https settings for Facebook account
After enabling HTTPS a lot of Facebook features as well as third party applications don’t work properly. If the Facebook webpage contains HTTPS your connection will be secure
