STeps to Hide My Recent Documents From Start Menu

which by default appears in the Start Menu of Windows XP. If you are working on a public computer such as your office or internet cafe then you must clean the recent documents list in the Windows XP for privacy purpose. Just proceed with the tutorial to clean out the recent documents

  1. Right click on the Windows taskbar and choose Properties from the drop down box
  2. Then from the taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box click on the Start Menu tab
  3. If you have a Classic Start Menu then click on the Start Menu radio button and click on Customize
  4. From customize start menu dialog box click on the Advanced tab
  5. Then from the Recent Documents section which is bottom of the window, just uncheck the feature to list your most recently opened documents
  6. Click the Clear List button to just clear the recent documents

If you want again the recent documents in start menu then just check the List my most recently opened documents
