If you’ve ever tried to open files in the Windows or Program Files folders of Windows 7, you’ve probably noticed that Windows likes to throw up
permissions errors. Because these are measured protected operating system directories and editing them can cause problems. If you know what you are doing then that message is very annoying to you. Through a simple registry tweak you can do this
- Go to windows start menu search box and type regedit then press enter
- In registry editor, all file extensions are stored in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT tree
- If you want to open the .zip file then you just browse the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.zip
- Then go to the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, WinRAR.ZIP, shell, open and command
- Next right-Click the Command key and choose Export from the context menu
- Then Windows will ask you to specify a file name and a location to save the copy
- Right-Click the registry file and choose Open with Notepad
- Then replace the command Runas in place Open
- Double-click on the file to enter the information into the registry
- A small confirmation box will appear, Click Yes and then OK
Modify your registry carefully. Before modifying your registry take a backup for precaution. If any problem came you can restore it
