Gmail automatically detects the text encoding when you click to view the message. Sometimes Gmail makes a mistake to choose the accurate encoding
and shows the garbled message. If Gmail isn’t able to accurately detect the encoding of a message, it may not be displayed properly. The message will appear as garbled. Gmail prepared a solution for viewing garbled messages in your inbox
- Go to Gmail website and login to your account
- Then open garbled message in your inbox
- Click down arrow next to reply and click Message text garbled
- Next garbled message will come another window in text format
- Now you can read complete mail in text format
You can change the encoding of the web browser like internet explorer, Firefox, Safari etc..
