Gmail is a free, webmail, POP3, and IMAP service provided by Google. Gmail support lots of features with enable and disable function. Gmail
automatically saves email address of the person and adds it to your contact lists when you communicate with that sender even though you might not communicate with him in future. Sometimes its annoying to you because so many contacts are saved in your contacts list. For this you need to disable the auto saving contacts feature. Now Gmail added a new feature to disable this feature from setting. You can turn off the contacts auto save feature by following the below steps.
- Login to your Gmail account
- Then click Mail settings on the top right corner of the window
- Go to General tab under the settings
- Then find Create contacts for auto-complete option
- Next click on the radio button I’ll add contacts myself option
- Finally click on the Save Changes button
If you want to enable the auto saving feature in future just follow the above tutorial and click on the When I send message to a new person add them to other contacts radio button
