Due to some reason you want to disable the properties option under my computer. You can do it by simple editing your registry. After disabling in
registry it shows the option but it is not workingClick on Windows Start menu and then click on Run
Registry modification will be dangerous if you modify incorrectly. Take a backup before modification.
- Then type regedit and press Enter
- Then Registry Editor Window will open
- In your registry you will have several choices, click the tab named HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- Continue to navigate through the registry by clicking the following tabs: Software, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Policy and Explorer
- Right click on Explorer and choose New then click on DWORD Value
- Then name it to NoPropertiesMyComputer
- Double click on NoPropertiesMyComputer and in the value data field enter 1
- Close the Registry Editor and Restart your PC for the changes to take effect
If you want to disable to the particular user that’s logged in just change the registry to HKEY_CURRENT_USER in place of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in step-4. Again in future if you want to enable this feature just put 0 in value data box in place of 1 as mentioned in step-8.
